What makes Stinky so mean?

Here is my buddy. His name was Stinky. He came to me at a late age and had six good years before he passed away. Why the name?? He was missing a lot of teeth and had a breath that would knock you out. Yes, he was a throw away kitty, but that's ok...he was loved at my house and we brushed what few teeth he had left.
