What makes Stan the Man so mean?

Stanley is a real sweetie.  Gentle, affectionate, lazy.  Stanley embodies all that is good about house cats. However, when it comes time for human assistance in the grooming department (i.e. summertime clipping of his thick & dense fur) he quickly becomes over 20 lbs of screamin' demon and all decorum goes out the window!
