What makes Smoggy so mean?

This is my man, Smoggy! He lost his eye to glaucoma in March 2001. He is the champion of sleep, naps and catching 20 winks (or would that be 10 winks now?), but his dark side does appear normally after midnight, in the wee small hours, when he goes stir crazy and fangs anything he sees.  Usually my ankles come off ripped and torn.  

Having one eye hasn't slowed him down at all; nor has being 14.  He still chases birds and bites ankles.
