This is the tale of a kitten, a toy slipper, and an
unfortunate pair of fairy wings.
You see, the evening started out as it typically does on a
Saturday. Children playing after dinner, as they try to avoid
the nightly teeth brushing and jamma wearing. Laughing and
running continued upstairs until I heard "Hey! Stop that!! Give
it back! Ow!! Hey! Keep back!" Next, I heard giggling and the
sound of three sets of feet as they started to run down the
stairs. "
TASHA!" Colleen cried out. "Stay back!" Natasha answered.
Becca could be heard giggling when she sat on the top of the
stairs, to wait for the moment of danger to pass.
I then saw Natasha run into the room. She said: "Don't touch
it! It will GROWL at you!" Having no clue as to what she talking
about, I glanced down to see our still nameless kitten
attempting to guard his new found prey.
I reached down to rescue this slipper when the creature's
ears disappeared into the top of his head. He glared at me with
this evil maniacal look cats give when they really mean business
and emitted a growl...which was not only meant to warn, but to
terrify. It worked, but as a mom, I am obligated to save any and
all toys from said creatures of "doom-eh". When I picked him up,
I realized that this tiny bundle had claws.
[Meankitty's note: DUH!]
I maneuvered him carefully in hopes to avoid the tiny
needles, but not only was he nimble, he was quick. Too bad I
didn't have a candle stick (Bam!) I ended up with quite a few
scratches, as well as a half way mangled pink feather on this
"Cinderella" shoe.
I sat back down and tried to relax again. Soon, I heard more
noise coming from Becca's room. "He's got something else,
Mommy!" This time I grabbed the camera first. And yes, he was on
a rampage. It seems he discovered the extreme evilness of pink
fairy wings (not that I blame him). He wanted to teach them a
lesson.
Notice the claws as he holds on tightly. I tried to shake him
off, fearing the claw, but he held on like a tick. But
when I snapped this picture, he took off like a shot and hid in
the darkness that is my downstairs.
