One of our new kittens,
Orangebud, is only 4 months old but he's well on his way to
being the meanest kitty in the Netherlands.
After we caught him thinking about jumping
off our 7th floor balcony, we've had to close the cat door and
now our other two cats aren't able to go out on the balcony on
their own anymore. They aren't happy very about that.
When Nancy took Tigerstripe for some fresh
air out on the balcony last weekend, Orangebud leapt up, locked
the door handle and trapped her on the balcony. She had to open
the cat door, stick her arm through and push the handle with a
litter box spoon to get back inside the house. Bad kitty!
In addition to being mischievous, he's
also jealous. If we pet the our older cat, Orangebud bites and
paws at your hand. If we hold his brother Loki, he'll run up
your leg as if it were a tree.
He's also obstinate. If he's doing
something that he isn't supposed to, like stealing food off a
plate and you tell him "no", he'll just keep coming
back.
