What makes Hobbes so mean?

I've got a cat named Hobbes who's the devil reincarnate. People think I'm joking, but he's downright evil. He's 7 years old this year. I got him at 5 weeks and he was nice for the first 2. Then, all hell broke lose. We kept hoping and praying and we'd say things like "maybe by the time he turns one he will have calmed down." Then it was 2, 3, 4....

We've about given up hope. He's seen more behaviorists (one had us lock him in the basement for 4 months, one had him on kitty-prozac, one would not touch him for fear of attack) and the animal psychic numerous times. He's attacked three small children completely unprovoked. He's punctured every person in my family and roommates that have lived with me. When he got out of my house last year, he was picked up by animal control for biting a person in their garage.

He had an impacted gut 2 years ago and cost me 2 grand, yet for me there wasn't even a question of whether or not I would keep him alive. An abscess in December cost another $600. He pees on clothes, he screams in the middle of the night, and I honestly think that he's schizophrenic. But he's my Hobbes and I love him to death.
