Here lies Gizmo: Grumpy Little Man

What made Gizmo so mean?
The other day my Gizmo got hit by a
car and I wanted to memorialize my super mean kitty. Gizmo, a
male Blue Point Himalayan, wasn't born mean rather he was made
mean. He was given as a pricey gift by a would-be suitor to his
previous owner, a woman who didn't want him. He got promptly
declawed by the woman and ignored by her which put him into a
bad mood which lasted a lifetime.
After I finally adopted him (long
story), Gizmo and I spent the last 8 years together where he
tolerated me and let me pet him once in awhile, and occasionally
I'd wake up to find him sleeping on me. Most of the time,
however, he just hissed and tried to bite me. He was happiest
just being by himself, and I was happy to let him do his thing.
It wasn't his fault his previous owner made him grumpy, and I
was just happy to give him a nice loving place to live.
He wasn't a cuddly cat, he wasn't
a particularly nice cat for that matter, but he definitely an
interesting cat, and I'm glad he got to at least spend the last
8 years of his life doing what made him happy. Rest in peace,
grumpy little man.
