What makes these kitties so mean?

The cats were not the only mean ones in this little episode. These cats were my sisters in 1947.  She was able to dress them and get them to lay on their back in a baby carriage while she pushed them around the block. 

These cats hated me and would bite me every chance they got. The clothing was all hand made by our mother. The pictures were scanned from a 50 year old slide.
