Daisy Mae lives with my mother, myself and two male cats,
Simon and Jaspurr. We were adopted by Daisy Mae when she
decided, as a stray, we were good enough to have her live with
us. She was approximately 1 at the time, and has ruled our home
with an iron paw for the past 13 years.
While she can be a good natured kitty, she has a dark,
controlling side that she tends to display more and more as she
grows older.
If she doesn't like the way you've fixed your hair that day,
she will hop up on the dining room table, demand you put your
head down within reach, and "rearrange" your style with her
mouth and her teeth into something she feels is more attractive.
She usually gives you head a good, hard bite for good measure.
She will also lull you into a false sense of security by
looking cute and sweet, asking you to please, please, please rub
her tummy, and while you attempt to do as she bids, she will
grab your hand with her forepaws and bite you as hard as she
can, while simultaneously rabbit scratching you with her back
feet. She came to us already declawed and has managed to
exercise her forepaws to superkitty strength to make up for the
deficit. As she bites your hand, she searches your eyes for
signs of pain..she gnaws and gnaws and I swear I can hear her
muffled laugh of glee at the fact she's hurting you all the
while you beg, "Daisy, don't bite!".
In addition, she will repeatedly, and without provocation,
put a beating on our male cats who are considerably younger and
still have their claws. She scoffs at the prospect they might
treturn the favor. Anything that goes wrong with her day is
CLEARLY their fault; whether they are around when something
happens or not, they face the beatings. If one of the boys gets
his tail stepped on by accident and yells in protest, she will
run from wherever she is in the house and put a beating on him,
even though he was the injured party!
She loves anything girly and demands to be in the room when
you have a bubblebath, and she wants to be patted when you've
just applied expensive cream to your hands so she can smell good
too!
