What makes Akeem so mean?

This is Akeem, whose full name is Akeem Bathsheba, Queen of the Universe.

Akeem is now 12 years old and has mellowed over the years, from frankly psychotic to merely bad-tempered.

Her chief pleasures in life are baiting human children so that she can wallop them and whaling the tar out of neighborhood kittens. Oh, and lying in the sun.
